What You Will Do :

  • This senior consultant role is to lead and execute projects supporting a federal civil rights office. The role involves working in the federal civil rights regulatory space, learning and applying federal civil rights requirements and administrative priorities, managing close client relationships with executive leadership and staff throughout the office, proactively understanding and managing ambiguous and changing client needs, developing and managing project plans, developing and implementing strategic and operational solutions, leading junior staff, and supporting management. Our teams greatly impact mission-oriented programs in the federal civil rights space in areas such as Title VI, Disadvantaged Business Enterprise, Equal Employment Opportunity, and the Americans with Disabilities Act.

  • A strong fit for the role is someone with a passion for civil rights, a great amount of curiosity, comfort with retaining, summarizing, and dynamically responding to new and changing priorities in the moment, a strong ability to think critically and clearly communicate professional skepticism with tact and conviction, and who brings proactivity and emotional intelligence to leading people and managing projects.

  • Manage the scope, schedule, and quality of client-facing projects.

  • Develop a deep understanding of and manage client relationships, including shifting and ambiguous priorities.

  • Flexibly facilitate meetings, presentations, and retreats with executive-level clients

  • Analyze and propose program improvement recommendations to a federal civil rights office.

What You Will Need :

  • 3+ years of experience in management consulting

  • Experience working within project workstreams

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to meet requirements and be issued a U.S. Public Trust

  • This position requires US citizenship.

  • Candidates should reside within a reasonable number of miles of the Guidehouse Arlington, VA Office.

What Would Be Nice To Have :

  • Experience with or interest in federal civil rights regulation/compliance in the areas of:

  • ADA Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990

  • Title VI Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964

  • DBE Disadvantaged Business Enterprise
